Mary Emma Deal

Mary Emma Deal, age 90, of Cullowhee passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at a local nursing home. She is the daughter of the late Lunnie and Susan Nicholson Burrell. She was married for 37 years to the late Bishop Deal. She enjoyed cooking and planting flowers around her house. She is survived by one sister Janie Fowler; two brothers Frank and Chris Burrell; and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. A funeral service will be held Friday October 16, 2015 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Jack Couch officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Oconee Memorial Park in South Carolina. Appalachian Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
