Melvin Howard Middleton

Melvin Howard Middleton, 88, of Cullowhee, NC, passed away Tuesday morning December 13, 2022.
A native of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Ransom and Edna Ledford Middleton. 
Melvin was a U.S.Navy Veteran serving during the Korean conflict. He owned and operated Middletons Store and was also a welder and pipe fitter by trade. 
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wives; Anna Jeanette Smith Middleton and Patricia Cook Middleton.  His siblings; Frances Middleton McCall, Ralph, Louise, Harvey, and Larkin Middleton, Ann Middleton Webb, Bruce and John Middleton and his great great grandchild; Mason Lawson. 
He is survived by his 5 children; 
James (Peggy) Middleton, Richard (Connie) Middleton, Earl (Regina) Middleton, Edna Cook Tyler, Isaac (Adriana Ennia) Middleton 
15 Grandchildren; Robbie (Mindy), Dusty, Kim (Jeremy), Karen (Cowboy), Regina (Doug), Amanda (Chad), Aimee (Josh), Tracy (Jacob), Kayla, Bethany, Melvin, Kristen (Kyle), Cody (Hayleigh), Levi and Isabella 
18 Great Grandchildren; Brayden, Matthew, Emily, Eli, Austin, Ashley, Esias, Taylor, Dawson, Bella, Sean, Monica, Madison, Ryleigh, Lily, Evan, Peyton and Ransom
 6 Great Great Grandchildren; Fiona, Clay, Averi, Jasper, Bentley and Eli
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A Celebration of Life for Melvin will be held 11:00 am Saturday December 17, 2022 at East LaPorte Grace Community Church with Pastor David Zachary and Rev. Avery Brown officiating.
