Mildred Joyce Pangle

Mildred Joyce Pangle passed peacefully on May 18, 2026. Mildred was a lifetime resident of Jackson County, born on April 8, 1940 to the late Oscar and Bessie Woodard.

In addition to her parents, Mildred is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Shirley Youngbird; her sisters, Margie Rhinehart Bradley, Evelyn Wilson, Myra Wilson, Annie Louise Woodard, Earlene Shook; brothers, Oscar Woodard, Robert Woodard, and Jay Woodard.

Mildred is survived by one sister, IvaNell Miller of Piedmont, South Carolina and her husband of 50 years, Lewis Pangle of the Little Savannah Community; her children, Todd Thomas (Tina), Terri Thomas, Connie Burke, Karla Lambert; grandchildren, Chad, Brittney, Emily, Jesse, Justin, Hunter, Taylor, Jarrett, Brandon, and Hypatia; 17 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; and special loved great niece, Angela Woodard.

Mildred was loved by everyone. She was a very loving and caring person, always looking for a way to help others. Mildred was an expert seamstress, artist, and jewelry maker. She loved cooking for her family and friends, reading and working in her beautiful flowers. She worked as a home health provider for many years.

A private family viewing was held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Appalachian Funeral Services.
