Ned Mills

Ned Mills 83 of Sylva passed in peace on February 9, 2023. He was the husband of Peggy Jones and the son of the late Wayne and Faye Mills.

He was a 1958 graduate of Sylva High School. He retired from C.J. Harris Hospital where he worked along side Dr. Lawrence Supik. Ned was also an entrepreneur and a very successful businessman. He owned and operated Mills Bargain Center on Skyland Drive for over 30 years.

Left to cherish his memory along with his wife are his daughter, Michelle Corder and husband Scott of Church Hill, TN; two grandsons, Clayson and Crewz Corder; two granddaughters, Ana-Kat Corder and Emily Seals, all of Church Hill, TN; and a special sister-in-law, Judy Jones of Whittier.

Ned will be remembered by friends and family as a loving husband, father, grandfather, distinguished businessman, champion hunter (he formed the L & M Hunt Club near Elberton, GA in 1980), an Atlanta Braves fan, a proud republican and Donald Trump supporter.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 14th from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Appalachian Funeral Services. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Austin Frady and Rev. Lanny Nations officiating. Pallbearers will be Dickie Clayton, Billy Carnes, Clayson Corder, Terry Fox, Jason Norman, and Emily Seals. Burial will follow in Nations Creek Cemetery.
