Rev. Truett C. Owen

Rev. Truett C. Owen, 88 of Tuckasegee, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 24, 2022. Truett was born in Transylvania County on February 14, 1934, to the late Conaway and Lois Hall Owen.

 

Truett loved the Lord. He was called to preach at the age of 18 and was an ordained minister for 55 years. Truett pastored several churches over the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his Christmas Trees, and traveling out west with his family.

 

Truett is survived by 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 6 great great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother and two sisters.

 

In addition to his parents, Truett is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Aileen Owen; two children, and one daughter-in-law.

 

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Woods Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Queen and Rev. Buster Mccall will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service. Burial will follow in Woods Cemetery.
