Richard Neal Alexander

Richard Neal Alexander of Sylva, North Carolina, passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 62. Rick was born in Savannah, Georgia, on July 11, 1963, to the late Rev. Bruce B. Alexander and Joyce Lawson Alexander.

He is survived by his Mother, Joyce, his son, Brandon Kyle Alexander (Sylva), Daughter, Kayce Lynn Alexander (Dallas, Texas) and 3 grandchildren, Monica, Demarcus and Evan and also two brothers, Stephen Craig Alexander (Kathy) of Sylva and David Wayne Alexander of Somerset, PA. Two nephews, Steven Bruce Alexander and Joseph Lee Baty.

He is predeceased by his father, Rev. Bruce B. Alexander, a son, Anthony Neal Alexander, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rick was a former Assistant Grounds Superintendent at Wade Hampton Golf Club in Cashiers, N.C., and later, Grounds Superintendent at Sapphire Valley Golf Club in Sapphire, N.C. After leaving the golfing business, he was a builder, and later moved to Cattaragus, New York, where he lived until February of this year. Rick enjoyed golfing and building until his health became an issue.

Rick will be missed by his family and friends who loved him dearly. HIs memory will never fade.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Buff Creek Baptist Church in Sylva, North Carolina on April 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM. There will also be a memorial service at Motlow Creek Baptist Church, Campobello, South Carolina, where he spent most of his childhood and most of his extended family live. Date to be announced at a later date.
