Ricky "Rip" Moore

Ricky Moore, known by some as “Rip”, passed away on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on February 10th, 1957, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Bernice Broom Moore and Lamar Joseph Moore. He will be remembered for his skill as a craftsman and for the kindness and humor he shared so freely.

Ricky built his life around the things that mattered to him most: his family, his work, golf, and his garden. He had a knack for numbers and problem-solving, and he put that to use in his craft and in whatever project he was working on. He liked making things with his hands and took pride in doing them well. He also enjoyed the simple parts of life. Golf gave him a good challenge and time with friends, and his garden gave him peace and the satisfaction of seeing things grow. 

What mattered most of all to Ricky were his three girls — Ashley Megan Moore, Codi Moore Justice, and Haley Jordan Moore. He wanted them to know the value of hard work, of being kind, and of never giving up on one another. To him, family was everything, and he hoped they’d always lean on each other the way he leaned on them. Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Broom, and his sister, Judy Moore Bowen. He is survived by his sister, Diane Moore, and the mother of his daughters, Allyson Mulkey, as well as multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. The family appreciates all the expressions of sympathy and support during this difficult time.
