Robert Lee Lanning

Robert Lee Lanning 74 of Haywood County passed away on Wednesday June 12, 2024. He lived most of his life in Cullowhee. Robert was born in Buncombe County on December 5, 1949 to Carl Lee Lanning and Macney Jane Maynor.

Robert is survived by his son, Shannon Lanning; daughter, Deborah Lanning; four grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. Several nieces also survive.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jacobs; and a nephew, Jeffry Jacobs. 

Robert served in the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday June 18th at 2:00 p.m. at Cullowhee Baptist Church.
