Ronald Gene Rearick

Ronald Gene Rearick, 85, of Whittier, North Carolina, formerly of Rural Valley, Pennsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Ronald was the son of Ruby Harkleroad Hilliard and the step son of Glenn E. Hilliard.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 53 years, Regina Kaminski Rearick, and two sons, Jason Rearick of Great Mills, Maryland, and Wade (Tracey) Rearick of Kittanning, Pennsylvania.
He is also survived by one sister, Linda Hillard Schumacher (Ron) of Everett, Washington; four brothers, Donald (Esther) Hilliard of Indiana, Pennsylvania, Kenneth (Sheila) Hillard of Rural Valley, Pennsylvania, William (Janine) Hilliard, of Ford City, Pennsylvania, and Ray (Malinda) Hilliard of Yatesboro, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Hilliard, also of Rural Valley, Pennsylvania.

The following was put on Facebook by a very dear friend of Ron's and we would like to share it because he captured the real Ron:

My old friend Pap (Ronald Rearick) went to be with his Jesus today. Best Lee Norse 106 mining machine operator, top notch fly fisherman and fly tier, awesome coon hound hunter, deer hunter, reloaded his own bullets, Ham Radio expert, loved his dogs, enjoyed his motorcycle and later kayaking, loved his Blue Grass music, loved living in his North Carolina home, loved his friends and family. I should mention his love of God's nature and of his love of flowers. Thanks for Camp Pap. Hope to see you on down the road! Rest in peace.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Appalachian Funeral Services, Sylva NC.  Online registry:  https://www.appalachianfuneralservices.com

Jeanne and Jason,
It was such an honor to have gotten to know Ron. Ron had a great faith and trust in God, and respect for God's Holy Words found in the Bible. Ron was a loving husband and father. Shoal Creek Baptist Church is honored to call Ron Rearick one of our dear Members. We as a Church are praying for Jeanne, Jason and the entire family that God's peace and love will comfort you during this time in knowing that Ron is now enjoying his reward with God in Heaven.
