Rowena Robinson Tolley

Rowena Robinson Tolley (Sweet Pea) 87 of Bryson City passed away on Monday January 12th with her family by her side. She was born on July 24, 1938 in Jackson County to the late William and Dora Robinson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Junior Tolley and her son Roy Tolley.

Sweet Pea enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking for them. If you went away hungry, it was your own fault. She also loved her dog Sony. She loved for him to lay in her lap and he was always by her side.

Rowena is survived by two sons and one daughter; Danny (Judy), David (Timberly), and Ann (Wes). Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren, and one brother, Samuel Robinson of Sylva.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Appalachian Funeral Services with Rev. Eddie Stillwell, Rev. Jason Bryson, and Rev. Tim Colwell officiating. Burial will follow in Stillwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service.
