Sim Morgan

Sim Morgan, 88, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord, Friday May 24, 2019, surrounded by his family. A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Gracie Morgan. Sim was a U.S. Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean conflict. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, he enjoyed fox hunting, was an avid gardener and he was a friend to everyone. He deeply loved his family, his Church and the outdoors. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his 8 siblings. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Minnie Lee Morgan Daughter- Sheila Taylor (Gary) of Brevard Son- Neil Morgan of Sylva Son- Danny Morgan (Pam) of Sylva 4 Granddaughters- Kristy Aiken (Jeremy) of Rosman Kim Swingle (Joe) of Asheville Amanda Carnes (Bryan) of Sylva Ashley Crowe (Nathan) of Sylva 4 Great Granddaughters, 2 Great Grandsons, 2 Extended Grandchildren; Tyler and Tate Sutton also survive Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday May 27, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Moore and Ernie Jamison officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00 prior to the Service at the Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
