Stanley M. Green (Stan), 69, of Sylva, beloved husband and father, went to his heavenly home on Monday, January 25, 2021.

Stan was born in Sylva to George M. Green and the late Aileen B. Green.

He was a member of Green's Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, Asst. Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, and Choir Director, and served on numerous church committees.

Stan retired from the NC Division of Motor Vehicles in 2016 as Jackson County's Lead Drivers License Examiner.

He attended Western Carolina University majoring in Art and Business.

Stan was an avid wood carver and Artisan wood worker. He learned many of his skills from his friend, the late Goldman Kinsland of Cherokee, NC.

He enjoyed traveling to Hilton Head Beach, cruising to different countries, Jeopardy, sports, shopping, cooking, church and home projects, wood working, and most of all spending time with his beloved family and his dogs.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Katherine Webb Green, his father, George M. Green, his sister, Clara Martin and his beautiful twin children, Lauren, and Colby (Charay) Green.

Also surviving are two brother-in-laws, Steve Webb (Gladys) and Leo Webb (Teri); two sister-in-laws, Gerlene Ashe and Willa Mae Posey. Several special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.

The family would like to express gratitude to Harris Regional Hospital for the special care Stan received.

Due to COVID-19, no services are planned.
