Suellen Mopps

Suellen Mopps, age 83, of Sylva, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 21, 2021. She was the wife of Wilbur Mopps and the daughter of the late Frank and Ellen Stogsdill.

Suellen was a member of Victory Baptist Church and taught school for over twenty-five years before retiring. She enjoyed reading, cooking, camping, and baking. She dearly loved her family.

Suellen is survived by her husband of sixty-three years, Wilbur Mopps; three children, Kathy (Philip) Hall, Leigh Anne Riley, and David (Florentina) Mopps; two granddaughters, Olivia Dawn Mopps and Sarah Megan Hall; and two grandsons, Philip Eric Hall and Brandon Andrei Mopps. Also surviving are six great grandchildren and one sister, Sarah Jane McMillan.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Wolfrey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
