Susan Elaine Brown Mackenzie, age 64, of Cullowhee, NC passed away on Friday, February 21 at her home. Susan was born on July 9, 1955 in Homestead, FL to James Lee and Nancy Craddock Brown. Susan graduated from Seabreeze Senior High in Daytona Beach, FL in 1973. She married Scott James Mackenzie May 15, 1975. She also bred Zebra Finches and other exotic birds. Her passion for pets was a constant throughout her life. There was never an animal she didn’t like or didn’t like her. What a joyous reunion there must have been with her many precious four-legged and winged friends greeting her on the Rainbow Bridge. She is survived by her mother Nancy Craddock Brown of Williamsburg, VA, sister Ann Brown-Hailey (Christopher) also of Williamsburg, niece Elizabeth Blair Hailey of Charlottesville, VA, nephew William Hailey of Falls Church, VA, dear friend Roz Behre of Tuckasegee, NC and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family extends their thanks to Roz Behre and Cullowhee United Methodist Church for their support and care.
