Tommy Lee Cunningham

Thomas L. Cunningham, 76, of Sylva, NC and Dillsboro, NC, passed away on Wednesday May 31, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. He was able to "Go Home" where he died among friends and family. 
He was an "avid" fan of the Kansas City Chiefs football team for over 50 years. He loved watching TV sports, news and nature shows. Sitting on the porch in his rocking chair watching for his favorite pet "Shy" to come see him brought him comfort. He loved the Sunday morning visits from Bob and Sam. Anyone who came by could tell he loved to talk. He was a retired house painter.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents Bonnie and Weaver Cunningham; brothers Jim and Mike Cunningham; sisters Mary Sue Gulino, Linda Lou Snyder and Shirley Ashe. 
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Linda Davis Cunningham, brother Bob Cunningham, brother-in-law Joe Davis, several nieces and nephews and special great- nieces Kaitlyn and Khloe
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday June 4, 2023 at Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev Eddie Stillwell officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 until 3:00 prior to the Service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dills Cemetery.
