Travis Shaun Shepherd

Travis Shaun Shepherd, 43 of Sylva, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 following a brief illness. He was born on March 9, 1982 to Joan Poindexter Shepherd and Vaughn Shepherd.

Travis was an Eagle Scout and a Cub Scout leader. He worked at Food Lion for twelve years and Davita Dialysis for twelve years and at Western Carolina University for three years. Travis enjoyed camping, watching movies, playing video games, and legos. He loved to spend time with his family. He was a member of Jarrett Memorial Baptist Church. Travis will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, Travis is survived by his partner and best friend, Danielle Stevens, two sons; Shaun Shepherd and Landon Myers; a nephew, Jaden Johnson; and stepson, Sawyer Roberts.

Travis is preceded in death by his sister, Heather Shepherd.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Appalachian Funeral Services. Rev. Corey Boone will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
