Troy Darrell Frizzell, a dedicated and hardworking individual, passed away on October 3, 2023. He was born on January 10, 1929, in Jackson County, NC. Troy will be remembered for his notable accomplishments and the impact he made during his lifetime.

Troy embarked on his career in California, where he sought a future in the lumber industry. He made significant contributions to society as a skilled carpenter and played an essential role in the construction of the First Baptist Church in McKinneyville, California. His dedication to his faith was unwavering, leading to his ordination as a deacon at this very church.

After his time in California came to an end, Troy retired as a carpenter after an impressive 32 years at WCU. Throughout his career, he exhibited a strong work ethic and dedication to craftsmanship that earned him admiration from colleagues and clients alike.

His commitment to his community extended beyond his career. Troy served as a deacon at Greens Creek Baptist Church until the time of his passing. His devotion to his faith and willingness to offer support to others were evident throughout his involvement with the church.

Outside of work and religious responsibilities, Troy wholeheartedly embraced various hobbies and interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He had a passion for tending to his vibrant garden filled with towering tomato plants. Known for their exceptional size, these tomatoes were shared generously with both his community and numerous doctors who assisted him over the years.

Additionally, Troy was an avid hunter who proudly showcased his skills by making the best deer chili imaginable. Watching his grandchildren play ball brought him immense happiness, displaying just how much he cherished family moments and celebrations.

Troy is preceded in death by his parents, W. Don and Selma Lewis Frizzell, as well as ten siblings who have passed before him. Although their absence leaves a void in our hearts, their memories will forever be cherished.

Troy leaves behind a legacy that will be carried on through his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Eula Hall Frizzell, two loving sons - Roger Frizzell and his wife, Marilyn, and Randell "Pete" Frizzell and his wife, Rachel. His daughter Belinda Allison, along with her husband Ralph, also mourn the loss of their beloved father.

In addition to his children, Troy is survived by one brother, Carroll Frizzell, and his wife Donna, and two sisters - Doris Crowe (late husband Dave) and Libby Gay (late husband Kenneth). The numerous cherished memories created alongside these siblings will hold a special place in their hearts forever.
