William Robert (Bob) Henson

William Robert (Bob) Henson, of Asheville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou Jacobs Henson. He was the son of the late Deelus and Bertha Henson.

Bob retired as part-owner of Circle Eight Foods and a veteran of the United States Navy and Army National Guard. He was a long-time, faithful member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church having served in many roles. He was a native of Sylva, NC and a graduate of Sylva High School where he was an athlete of several sports and on the state championship football team. He enjoyed gardening and sports of all kinds and bowled two perfect 300 games, placing him in the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. He is survived by two daughters, Angela (Darrell) Frick and Melodie (Marty) Frick; two grandchildren, Roy (Maggie) Frick and Dallas (Lincoln) Jones; four great-grandchildren, Will, Raleigh Anne, Brody, and Madison; sister, Dot Daves; brother, Charles (Norma) Henson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 11:00 a.m., at the Parris Cemetery in Dillsboro with Rev. Tim Lolley officiating. The family will speak to friends immediately following the service.
