William "Jack" Morrow, 86, of Sylva, passed away unexpectedly at his home on March 16, 2026. He was born on June 3, 1939.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith Dun Bradbury and William Scott Morrow and his wife of 43 years, Christine Dorothy Ayles-Morrow.
Jack was born and raised in Weslaco, Texas, graduated from high school and joined the United States Air Force. While stationed in England, he met his wife, Christine and they were married in Camberwell, England. During his twenty-two years of service, he was stationed at bases in England, Texas, Arizona, Vietnam, and Thailand. He was a Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Technician/Maintenance Superintendent and retired a Senior Master Sargeant. After retiring from the Air Force, Jack was employed by the United States Postal Service and worked until he retired.
Jack is survived by his son, Colin D. Morrow and his wife, Barbara, of Cullowhee, and his daughter, Karen L. Oxner and her husband, Wayne, of Ocala, Florida; and their four children and five great-grandchildren: Christopher Oxner and his wife, Sarah, of Wesley Chapel, Florida and their four children; Haleigh, Lucy, Norah, and Gavin, Lauren Ozner, of Ocala, Florida and her daughter, Eve, Shelby Hardy and her husband, Alonzo, of Euless, Texas, and Ashley Le and her husband, Jonathan of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He is also survived by his two sisters, Carol Demsey, of Fort Colins, Colorado and Jeannie Summers of Rome, Georgia.
He will be buried next to his wife at West Memorial Park in Weaverville, NC. There will be a graveside service for the family on Friday, March 27th.
