William Bryant Russell

William Bryant Russell, affectionately known as Will, was a loving, quiet, and solitary soul who touched the lives of those around him in profound ways. He entered this world in 1974 in Anderson, South Carolina, and peacefully departed from his residence on March 20, 2024. Will's essence was defined by his gentle nature and unwavering love for his family.

Throughout his life, Will found joy in the simple pleasures – from traveling to embracing new adventures, delving into books, savoring music that stirred his soul, and relishing the richness of diverse cuisines. However, above all else, his heart belonged to his cherished family.

Will spent living time in an Ashram, a testament to his introspective and spiritual nature. His spirit of seeking peace and tranquility resonated with all who knew him.

Will is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Barbara Carol Copeland. He now rests in eternal peace alongside her.

In mourning his loss yet cherishing his memory are the members of Will's surviving family - Barry Russell (father) and his wife, Drucilla, along with his sister Ann Cantrell (Eric) and their sons Wyatt, Graham, and Owen.

Will's legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will be a beacon of light guiding those who loved him through the shadows of grief. May he rest in peace knowing that he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.

A Celebration of Will’s Life will take place at 2:00PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Sylva NC.
