Wilma Dills Farmer

Wilma Dills Farmer, born on November 2, 1945, in Jackson County, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024. A cherished member of her family and community, Wilma's life was a tapestry woven with love, devotion, and a passion for the beauty of nature.

Known for her green thumb, Wilma found great joy in gardening, nurturing and plants that brought life to her surroundings. She also relished the thrill of yard sales, always on the lookout for unique treasures that told a story. Her warmth and enthusiasm made her a beloved figure among those who knew her.

Wilma is survived by her beloved brothers, Sterling Dills (Wanda) and Alonzo Dills, as well as her dear sisters, Mary Dills Cook, Irene Dills Coggins, Ethel Dills Keener, and Catherine Dills Cantrell (Ernest). She held a special place in her heart for her niece Kari Dills and her nephew Mickey Dills, both of whom brought her immeasurable joy and pride.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bunyon Dills and Ira Lee Mull Dills, loving husband, J.B. Farmer, along with her brothers, Michael Dills and Paul Dills. Their memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of her family, as they reflect on the legacy of love and strength that Wilma so beautifully embodied.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation scheduled for August 31, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM, both held at Appalachian Funeral Services located at 165 Skyland Drive, Sylva, NC 28779.Reverends Jason Stevens and Eddie Stillwell officiating.
