Zeb Ernest Hall

d. May 13, 2012

Heaven's choir has a new member with the passing of Zeb. He went from this place of work and pain to a glorious new home. He can now visit with those gone on before including his father and mother, Richard and Mamie Hall, his brothers Clyde and Thomas, sister Ruby, and wife Amie Brooks Hall. Zeb was proud of his family and cherished his time with his wife, Delois Henderson Hall of Sylva, daughters, Sandra Cloer of Indian Trail, NC, Debra Payne and husband John of Franklin, and son Ernest Dale Hall and wife Ann of Sylva. He loved all of his grandchildren- Mark Cloer, Page Cloer Blount and husband Michael all of Indian Trail, NC, Darren Hall of Sylva, Daniel Hall of Albuquerque, NM and Martha Ann Hall of Raleigh. The six great grandchildren, Ethan Blount, Andrew Birmingham, Jessica Birmingham, Christopher Cloer, Caitlin Cloer, and Carolyn Cloer gave him great joy. He was also close to his brother Lyle Hall and sisters Eula Mae Frizzell and husband Darrell, and Genevieve Coats and husband E.J. During his working years, Zeb was a master craftsman in plaster application and finishing and stone masonry. He was a wizard with a trowel. As well as working in the construction industry, he was also employed at Rabun Mills and retired from Western Carolina University where he was a maintenance worker. Zeb enjoyed spending time in the woods. He was an avid hunter and one of the best small stream trout fishermen in western North Carolina. One of his greatest passions was gospel music. He loved both to listen and perform. For most of his life, he sang with gospel groups, directed church music and sang in church choirs. He loved Christian fellowship. Zeb highly valued his many friends in the community and the time spent visiting with them. Because of these friendships, he has a special last request. There will be no service for him but rather his request was that all who knew him take some time to visit a friend or neighbor. He did not want flowers or memorials for himself but asked that those who would give would give to share a meal with someone in need, help someone with a grocery bill, donate to a needy child, or any other beneficial act in his memory. By doing these things for the living, you will honor him most. Our loss is heaven's gain. Submitted with love and respect from his son- Dale Hall
